Solite wins “2020 Brand of the Year Award” in the automotive battery category in Korea

Hyundai Sungwoo Solite’s automotive battery brand “Solite” demonstrated its market dominance by winning first place and earning the “2020 Brand of the Year Award” in the automotive battery category, in a competition organized by the Korea Consumers Forum.

This prestigious award recognizes the best brand to have led to the development of various areas, including economy, culture, and people. It is based on objective evaluation and reliable information from consumers aged 14 and over who directly participated in the brand selection vote.

The vote was conducted using online, mobile, and telephone surveys from July 27 to August 9 of this year, involving about 560,000 consumer participants, making this the largest survey of this kind to date. The Solite battery was named No. 1 out of five candidates in the automotive battery category after earning the highest overall score.

Solite batteries are responsible for the stable supply of electricity in various industrial groups, including products for automobiles, agricultural machinery, ships, and industrial facilities. Since their start in supplying OE parts for the Hyundai-Kia motor company, they have developed brand power through their continuous improvement of quality, performance, and sponsorship of culture, arts, and sports. Their products are now being exported to about 90 countries, including areas in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.

Solite batteries are relied upon and trusted around the world, as the company has always considered open communication about customer needs and feedback a top priority. In order to provide customized products to consumers, the company has expanded its product line to 155 types, offering 789 items in total. They have also consistently developed their technologies, obtaining differentiated technology patents in areas such as lead-acid batteries, fuel cells, and nickel-hydrogen batteries to improve battery performance and economic efficiency.

A representative of Hyundai Sungwoo Solite said, “The efforts we have made to enhance product quality, brand value, and awareness seem to have paid off,” adding, “As consumers have selected it, we will continue to work hard to develop technologies so that we can provide differentiated products and services to realize customer satisfaction.”

Starting as the Gyeongwon Industry in 1979, Hyundai Sungwoo Solite belongs to Hyundai Sungwoo Group along with Hyundai Sungwoo Casting, a manufacturer specializing in automotive casting products and alloy wheels. The company has continued to grow steadily through various domestic and foreign networks established in line with global markets. It is currently expanding its business to develop eco-friendly technologies and utilize renewable energy sectors, in line with the rapidly changing trends of the auto industry.
